Welcome to the Benjamin Leon School of Nursing!

As Dean of the Benjamin Leon School of Nursing, I want to thank you for choosing a career in nursing and for trusting us to be part of your journey. I recognize the dedication you show each day in your academic and clinical experiences. Nursing is more than a profession; it is a calling that requires compassion, integrity, and a commitment to staying current in an ever-evolving healthcare environment. Every experience in the classroom, simulation hospital, and clinical setting helps shape the nurse you are becoming. I encourage you to embrace each opportunity to learn and grow.

Whether you are preparing to become a nurse or returning to earn your bachelor’s degree, your role will be essential in advancing patient care, promoting health equity, and leading positive change in the healthcare system. I encourage you to stay curious, ask questions, and take every opportunity to grow both professionally and personally.

Nursing is not an easy path. It requires balancing coursework, clinical learning, family responsibilities, and self-care. It is also not a solitary profession; it depends on teamwork, collaboration, and support. Lean on those around you during difficult or uncertain times. As I often say, “I didn’t say it would be easy, but I did say it would be worth it.” I am proud of every Benjamin Leon School of Nursing student, whether you are just beginning your studies or advancing to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Stay inspired and always remember why you chose this profession.
