Financial Support

• In-state tuition for up to 30 credits plus fees per year

• Co-curricular activities (performing arts, school newspaper, Student Government Association, student clubs, etc.)
• Changemaking/service learning
• Study abroad opportunities
• Admission to campus and community-based events, including movies, sports, film festivals, book fairs, and more

Program Requirements

• Graduate High School in 2022 (May-June)
• Complete the MDC Admissions Application for Summer 2022
• Complete the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 Federal Financial Aid Application (FAFSA)
• Enroll in summer courses at MDC
• Complete the Rising Black Scholars Program Application
• Complete the New Student orientation (customized for Rising Black Scholars Program)
• Provide letter of recommendation

Additional Information

• Funds will be applied at the in-state tuition rate after all other resources available to cover tuition and fees have been applied. 
• Out-of-state students are responsible for any additional out-of-state costs per credit, not covered by the scholarship.
