Per Florida Senate Bill 366 (2021) and section 1007.23(3), Florida Statutes, Math Pathways were created to facilitate the seamless transfer of credits, reduce excess credit hours, and ensure that students throughout Florida’s public colleges and universities take the math courses needed for their future careers. The three math pathways are Algebra Through Calculus, Statistical Reasoning, and Mathematical Thinking in Context.

Florida’s public colleges and universities are required to align associate and baccalaureate degree program requirements to one of the three math pathways. Students entering a Florida College System (FCS) institution in the 2024-2025 academic year and thereafter must be advised of the math pathways that align with their intended academic and career pathways, including the general education core math course associated with that pathway and subsequent math coursework that aligns with the pathway’s learning outcomes.

A description of the three math pathways and their learning outcomes, the general education core and subsequent math courses for each pathway, and the Math Pathways-to-Programs List for Miami Dade College are found below.
